UIM’ MARIT STROMOY AT 2017 IOC WOMEN AND SPORT AWARDS CEREMONY
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Women and Sport Awards were introduced in 2000 to recognize the outstanding achievements an
d contributions of those who promote gender equality in Sport. The Awards are given to women, men or organisations who have made remarkable contributions to the development, encouragement and reinforcement of women’s participation in sport.
UIM’s Marit Stromoy, first female driver ever to win a top level race in the UIM F1 Championship, was invited and celebrated at the 2017 IOC Women and Sport Awards Ceremony, a stunning event held in Lausanne attended by several Olympic and World Champions of all sport disciplines.
The UIM President Raffaele Chiulli stated “the invitation at such a prestigious event from the IOC is a great recognition for Marit and for the whole UIM powerboating community”.
